Tree Removal
& Bucking

Straightforward removals, done by a production faller. Which mostly means it goes where it's supposed to go, the first time, and nobody's roof is involved.

What we take down

• Trees against structures: houses, shops, cabins, barns, decks and bunkhouses
• Driveway and access clearing: the long rural driveway that's closing in
• Fence lines and property lines: including the awkward conversation with the neighbour
• Lake-lot removals: steep bank, limited access, no room to swing
• Beetle-killed and dead standing: standing dead pine, which is most of the Cariboo
• Selective thinning on acreage: opening a stand up without wrecking it
• Firewood cutting and bucking: bucked to length and stacked if that's what you want

How it comes down

Three methods, and the tree picks which one.

1. Conventional fall. There's a lane, we use it. Fastest, cleanest, cheapest.
2. Sectional takedown. No lane. It comes down in pieces from the top, with each piece controlled.
3. Rigged down. Nothing can touch the ground uncontrolled, over a roof, a deck, a septic field or a fence. Slower, more expensive, and the only right answer sometimes.

Anyone quoting you a price without telling you which one they're using hasn't decided yet, which means the number can move.

The cleanup question, settled up front

This is where most tree jobs go sideways. Every quote states in writing what happens to the wood before a saw comes out:

• Hauled away: wood and brush gone, site raked
• Chipped on site: brush chipped, chips blown where you want them or hauled
• Bucked to firewood: rounds cut to your length, stacked or left where they fall
• Piled to burn: slash piled clear of everything, ready for your burn window

Whichever you pick is in the quote, with a price. There's no “well, that's extra” at the end of the day.

What we won't do

We won't top a healthy tree to make it shorter. Topping doesn't make a tree safer, it makes it produce weak regrowth off a rotting stub, and in five years you have a worse problem and a bigger bill. If someone offers to top your tree, ask them what happens next.

We won't work close to energised power lines without BC Hydro involved. And we won't quote a tree we haven't looked at, in a photo or in person.
